WHAT IS SPIRITUAL DIRECTION?

The goal of spiritual direction (companionship) is to cultivate responsiveness and openness to the Spirit’s presence in our lives.  This journey of spiritual companionship provides a safe space where individuals can grow in a deeper relationship with themselves, others and God. Contrary to the title, a Director does not direct a person – there’s no teaching, preaching, advice-giving or judgment. Instead, a Spiritual Director will hold space for you to share. Active listening, questions and reflective moments occur as one explores what they may be noticing or experiencing in their daily life.  Your story, emotions, and experience (or lack thereof) with God is welcome.  The beauty of spiritual direction is how the discovery and attentiveness to the sacred ground of our souls can bring about growth, peace and transformation. If you are in a season of spiritual questioning, discerning God's direction for your life, needing spiritual healing and care, or desiring a deeper connection to the Spirit this could be for YOU! Your place of desperation often becomes a holy place of revelation.

FAQ’S:

How long does Spiritual Direction last?

Spiritual Direction is an hour long session and meetings can be once or twice a month.

Are the meetings in person or virtual?

This is your personal preference if you are local. Kelly’s private studio space immersed in nature provides a quiet, welcoming place for Spiritual Direction. Virtual meetings are also an option with the importance having a quiet, safe and un-interrupted space.

Can I give Spiritual Direction a try to see what it is like before I commit?

Yes! So glad you asked! You may be more familiar with counseling, therapy, pastoral counseling, or coaching. Spiritual Direction may complement any of these resources or be a stand alone. There may be appropriate times where professional medical attention or therapy is necessary and spiritual direction is not the right fit. You are more than welcome to give it a try!
